Wandering sea anemone (Phlyctenactis tuberculosa)
Wandering sea anemone (Phlyctenactis tuberculosa), on blades of giant kelp (Macrocystis pyrifera). Has numerous bladder-like vesicles on bulging column. In daytime it curls up and looks like a ball of baked beans. It attaches itself to weed, seagrasses and rock but can detach itself and is often seen drifting on the sea floor. Tasmania, Australia
