Rokuon-ji, a Zen Buddhist temple

Rokuon-ji, a Zen Buddhist temple also known as Kinkaku-ji. The pavilion was rebuilt in 1955 after it was burnt down in 1950 by a 22-year-old novice monk. It is a World Heritage Site and one of the most visited historic buildings in Kyoto. Kita-ku, Kyoto, Japan

Religious offerings in the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple completed in 2007, a four-storey, northern Chinese style temple and museum complex. A stupa on the fourth floor made with 320 kg of gold houses its treasure, reputedly the left canine tooth of the Buddha, recovered from his funeral pyre in Kushinagar, northern India, or from a collapsed stupa in Myanmar.
