Sea foam called wave flowers in Japanese in a rough sea on a rocky shore. The phenomenon occurs during winter when winds in the sea north of Japan can reach 13 metres per second and the waves about 4 metres high. Botanical plankton in the water turn into foam, white at the start of winter turning to yellowish as particles of rock are added to the mix.
