Large-leaved lupins (Lupinus polyphyllus)

Large-leaved lupins (Lupinus polyphyllus) flowering on the shore of Lake Wakatipu. Sadly, the spectacular plant is classified as invasive. It has spread over large areas along roads and rivers and in pastures, threatening indigenous species particularly in the braided river beds in South Island. It also shelters feral cats, stoats and ferrets. Near Queenstown, Central Otago, South Island, New Zealand
